Tracy-Anne McPhee

Deputy Premier, Minister of Justice and Minister of Health and Social Services, and Government House Leader. Proud to serve the riding of Riverdale South.
Tracy McPhee was first elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly in 2016 representing the riding of Riverdale South and was appointed as the Yukon’s Deputy Attorney General, Minister of Justice and Minister of Education. In 2021, Tracy was re-elected as MLA for Riverdale South and was appointed as the Deputy Premier, Yukon’s Attorney General, Minister of Justice and Minister of Health & Social Services.
In her previous career, she was senior legal counsel, an educator and consultant. Tracy served as Yukon Ombudsman and Information and Privacy Commissioner for a five-year term. Her legal work focused on criminal prosecutions, administrative law, labour and child protection cases. She also helped develop the Yukon Domestic Violence Treatment Option Court and was the Executive Director of the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre. Tracy has owned and operated four small businesses in the Yukon Territory; and has developed and taught numerous administrative law training courses and law courses at Yukon University.
Tracy’s volunteer work has included serving as President of the Canadian Federation of Law Societies, the first female President of the Yukon Law Society, Maddison Chair in Northern Justice, Yukon Law Foundation and senior positions with the Canadian Bar Association, both locally and nationally. She served as a board member of the Whitehorse Food Bank, as vice-chair of MacBride Museum of Yukon History and as co-chair of the F.H. Collins School Council.
Tracy has a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University, a Bachelor of Education from St. Mary’s University and an L.L.B. from Dalhousie University Law School. Tracy is an inaugural inductee to the Bertha Wilson Honour Society at Dalhousie University that recognizes extraordinary alumni and their contributions to law and society. She is a recipient of the Canadian Bar Association Award for outstanding service to the Association.
