The Yukon Liberal caucus and the Yukon NDP caucus have come to an agreement to work together to support a Liberal Government to guide the territory forward.
The Confidence and Supply Agreement between the two caucuses will be in effect until January 31, 2023. It sets out the terms for this collaboration to work effectively and outlines areas deemed important by both caucuses.
Sandy Silver, leader of the Yukon Liberal Party and Kate White, leader of the Yukon NDP agree that Yukon needs a stable government at this time and that working in collaboration will be beneficial for Yukoners.
“The Liberal and NDP MLAs agree that the best way to move forward is to come together on behalf of all Yukoners. There is a lot of good work to be done in this territory and by working collaboratively; we can make life better for Yukoners. I have long said good ideas come from all sides. I am ready to work with the NDP team to continue to build a strong future for the people of this territory.”
Sandy Silver, leader of the Yukon Liberal Party
“I’m so proud of this deal. It will make life better for Yukoners, and it will establish a new working relationship between our caucuses, one built on collaboration and respect. It’s an agreement that puts people at the center of decision-making and delivers real, tangible results for Yukoners, like a cap on rent increases, a minimum wage increase, a dental program, safe supply, and enhanced climate targets.”
Kate White, leader of the Yukon NDP
