MLA Sandy Silver celebrating the new pride and transgender crosswalks in Whitehorse
Dear constituents,
As always, I am grateful for your continued support. It has been a busy and productive spring, and I am proud of the progress our Liberal caucus has made on our commitments.
This year, for the first time in Yukon, National Aboriginal Day was celebrated with a territory-wide statutory holiday. I was proud to honour this important day at home in Dawson at the Dänojà Zho Cultural Centre. Congratulations and thank you to the Hän Singers and all the other performers who made this event an incredible celebration of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in culture.
In May, I co-chaired our second Yukon Forum with Grand Chief Peter Johnston, furthering the joint priorities of The Government of Yukon and First Nations Governments. These steps are setting the stage for a prosperous, modern Yukon where all governments work together. Our caucus remains committed to the Yukon Forum and fostering the development of a positive, collaborative relationship with Yukon First Nations.
I look forward to a summer of conversations as I meet, listen to and connect with Yukoners on the issues that matter to them.
For our community of Dawson I am focused on bringing our collective concerns to the table. I am working hard with my fellow MLAs on issues such as affordable housing and paving the Dawson City airport runway.
Finally, I’d like to extend my gratitude to my team members in the Liberal Caucus. The dedication of my colleagues is inspiring and I am very proud of the good work accomplished in the spring session of the Legislative Assembly. I look forward to connecting with you soon, and wish you a wonderful summer.
Thank you! Mahsi cho!
Sandy Silver
