Running from June 14, 2017 to July 14, 2017, the first phase of public engagement to support the work of the Yukon Financial Advisory Panel has launched.
Why the panel?
Financial planning is about more than money. It’s about the values and the priorities of Yukoners. The Yukon government has assembled a Financial Advisory Panel to gather feedback from Yukoners on what YOU see as financial success and sustainability for our territory.
How does it work?
There are 2 phases of public engagement:
- Phase one is focused on an online survey (take it today!) The survey is easy, but it does take a little bit of time. We would recommend putting aside 10-20 minutes to complete the survey, which will dig into your priorities and vision for Yukon’s financial future. This information will help inform the options the Panel will present to the government.
- Phase two will take place in September. Members of the Panel will travel to each Yukon community and will offer to meet with each First Nation government, each municipal government, and will hold public meetings. Yukoners will be able to discuss the pros, cons and alternatives for the options the panel presents.
Why are we having this conversation?
The financial decisions made by the government affect all Yukoners. This means that when difficult or complicated decisions are being made, all Yukoners should be heard. The goal of the Financial Advisory Panel and the public engagement is to enable Yukon to achieve healthy finances now and in the future.
