Improving the way procurement is delivered in Yukon has been a big focus of the Liberal government. Following the implementation of the recommendations from the Procurement Advisory Panel , a new eProcurement system is now live.
Under the old system, bidding on tenders was not digital – you had to print copies of your proposal, which could often be hundreds of pages long. Moving to an online bid submission process will save businesses time and money (and paper!) by making procurement more accessible, and will also save Yukoners money as it means that government can be more efficiently analyze and collect data.
Here are a few features of the new system:
- electronic bidding that includes supplier registration, tender notifications and electronic submissions for suppliers;
- contract management that meets the standards of government financial systems;
- spend analytics for reporting and planning, leading to more strategic procurement and greater transparency; and
- vendor performance review program management that includes evaluation and tracking of contract performance.
