Hello to the great folks of Copperbelt North!
Thank you for your continued support throughout the spring session of the Legislative Assembly. I hope this letter finds you happy, well, and enjoying this beautiful Yukon summer.
It has been a busy and productive session in the House and I am pleased to report on the progress made on behalf of the Liberal Caucus. During my time in the house I brought forward a number of motions urging the government to support important initiatives, such as working with business owners and finding more solutions to support aging in place.
I tabled a motion that was unanimously passed, asking the territorial government to support Bill C-17 as it makes its way through the Federal House of Commons. This Bill is of vital importance to support government-to-government relations as well as stability in the mining industry in our territory.
Additionally, I was proud to table a motion urging the government to increase the ceiling for the Yukon Small Business Investment Tax Credit from $1 million to $5 million. Increasing this threshold opens more doors for Yukon businesses, which benefits our local economy.
Beyond my efforts in the house, I continue my work on the Community Development Fund. This initiative distributes funds throughout the Yukon for worthwhile projects and is a great example of local problems addressed through local solutions.
I look forward to a busy and productive summer connecting with the residents of Copperbelt North! If you see me out and about walking or on my bike, please be sure to come say hello and tell me what matters to you. I will be sure to bring your voice to the Yukon Liberal Caucus.
Sincerely,
Ted Adel
MLA for Copperbelt North
