Premier and Klondike MLA Sandy Silver and members of the Liberal caucus are on their way to Dawson City today to celebrate Yukon’s mining industry at the 31st annual Dawson City International Gold Show.
Minister of Highways and Public Works Richard Mostyn, Minister of Tourism and Culture Jeanie Dendys, Minister of Community Services John Streicker and Minister of Economic Development Ranj Pillai will be attending the Gold Show this weekend.
“It’s great to be back home and I’m looking forward to a busy and productive weekend of conversations with members of Yukon’s mining industry,” Silver said.
Members of the Liberal caucus will also attend the Klondike Placer Miner’s Association membership meeting, celebrate Dawson City’s mining heritage and business community at the Bill Bowie Dinner and Auction and attend the Tr’ondek-Klondike UNESCO Heritage Site Open House.
On Sunday the Minister responsible for the Yukon Housing Corporation Pauline Frost and Klondike MLA Sandy Silver will attend the Klondike Development Organization’s grand opening of eight new affordable housing units.
The Dawson City International Gold Show is organized by the Dawson City Chamber of Commerce and takes place today and tomorrow, May 19 and 20.
