Strategic investments improve the lives of Yukoners.
We believe in the value of investing in our communities. Our Liberal Caucus is committed to finding local solutions for local problems, and working in partnership with communities to build a Yukon where all people have access to the care they need to live vibrant, healthy lives.
To ensure Yukoners receive the best health care, we successfully negotiated an additional $25.6 million in federal funding for health care in Yukon, and an additional $11.4 million in support of home care needs and mental health initiatives.
Early Highlights from 2017:
- Negotiated federal funding for $6.2 million to support critical home care needs, and $5.2 million to support Yukon mental health initiatives.
- Provided access to free take-home naloxone kits across the territory to prevent harm from drug use.
- Awarded historic resource funding to two projects working to support the preservation and revitalization of Yukon First Nations language and oral history.
- Negotiated an additional $25.6 million for health care through the Territorial Health Investment Fund.
