This week Northwest Territories Premier Bob McLeod, Nunavut Premier Peter Taptuna and Yukon Premier Sandy Silver met in Yellowknife, NWT, to discuss opportunities and key issues facing Canada’s North.
Their discussions covered topics such as increasing opportunities for northerners, job creation, economic diversification, reconciliation and sustainable development.
The three Northern Premiers will release their Pan-Territorial Vision for Sustainable Development by the end of September, focused on increasing opportunities for people living in indigenous communities, and rural and remote communities.
