MLA Ranj Pillai visiting Singletrack to Success at the Research Forest.
Dear Residents of Porter Creek South,
I hope this letter finds you enjoying our beautiful Yukon summer. I’m looking forward to spending time outside with my family in the coming weeks, and to having more time to spend at the door in Porter Creek South, hearing from my constituents. The spring session of the Legislative Assembly was very full and productive. Our caucus is working hard to ensure that all Yukon families, businesses and industries are supported.
As I’ve been speaking with Porter Creek South residents I’ve head concerns on speeding and road safety in our community. I am working closely with the City on these issues, including excessive speeding on 12th Avenue and Ponderosa, crosswalk safety, and the speed of transit buses in the neighbourhood. I am always looking to hear feedback from residents on projects in our community that I can support, or issues that I can work to find solutions for.
My continued thanks goes out to both the Friends of McIntyre Creek and the Porter Creek Community Association for the ongoing work being done to make our community a great place to live. This summer I will be in the neighbourhood knocking on doors. Please reach out to me if you have a concern you’d like to share. I would love to drop by for a visit and hear from you.
Sincerely,
Ranj Pillai
MLA for Porter Creek South
In Our Community
I’d like to recognize an incredible individual in our community, Jodi Gustafson. Jodi recently returned from Nuku’alofa, Tonga where she attended the Secretariat for the Pacific Regional Environment Programme’s “Whales in a Changing Ocean” conference. There, she captured Pacific Islanders on film discussing the challenges and opportunities for conservation of their beloved whales. This June, their voices were heard by many when her film was screened at the United Nations Ocean Conference in New York. Her film can be viewed using this link: https://vimeo.com/220221541.
Congratulations, Jodi!
