Dear Constituents,
Thank you for electing me your representative for Whitehorse West. You’ve honoured me, and I take the responsibility seriously. I remember the issues we talked about on the doorstep last year and I’m advocating every day for better health care, housing and education, local benefits from procurement, more accountability and transparency and a caucus that works WITH First Nations to build an economy that benefits all Yukoners. Some changes are coming faster than others, but rest assured the Liberal Caucus and I are tackling these and many other issues for the benefit of all.
Early highlights from 2017:
- I’ve engaged the City of Whitehorse to solve the Ingram exit issue.
- I have met with many industry sectors and individuals on the procurement file and instructed my officials to modernize and improve the way government buys goods and services.
- I have met with many individuals, local organizations and businesses to hear their concerns, including the Tourism Industry Association, the Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce, the Yukon Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Yukon Communities, the Yukon Employees’ Union, the Yukon Teachers’ Association, the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association, the Youth of Today Society, Tech Yukon, and the Golden Age Society. I plan to meet with many others in the coming months.
