MLA Jeanie Dendys, Megan Jensen and federal Minister Monsef at the UN commission.
Dear Constituents,
I want to sincerely thank you for electing me to serve as your MLA. I wouldn’t be here today without the incredible support I received throughout my campaign, and I intend to dedicate my efforts to building relationship within the communities in our riding. The past few months have been exciting and busy for our Liberal Caucus, and we’ve been working hard to incorporate the feedback we heard from our constituents at the door. Our caucus is actively engaging with our First Nation Chiefs to reset relationships with Yukon First Nations. We continue to work to promote diversification within our economy, while ensuring that the environment is respected.
We have promised that you will be heard, and we also commit that you will receive response from us, for any of the questions or concerns you may have. My door is always open to you, and my office is a place where you can bring your issues. I am here to be of service.
Early highlights from 2017:
- Participated in the Yukon Advisory Council on Women’s Issues: Building a Vision for Equality in February.
- Attended the United Nations: Commission on the Status of Women 61st Session and represented Canada on Indigenous women’s empowerment in economic opportunities in Canada. I also led a ceremony and sat on a panel for ending violence against Indigenous women and girls.
