Today in the Legislative Assembly Porter Creek Centre MLA Paolo Gallina received unanimous support for his motion acknowledging the generous contribution of RyanWood Exploration to Yukon athletes on their journey to the Olympics to compete in cross-country skiing.
The Yukon Liberal Caucus applauds this local business for its support of local athletes. Investments in sport for our youth help all Yukoners thrive, and we are proud of our athletes as they prepare to make this incredible journey to represent Yukon at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.
We also commend the youth ambassadors of Team Yukon as they ready to proudly represent the territory at the upcoming North American Indigenous Games this July in Toronto. The Yukon government will contribute $325,000 to support the Yukon Aboriginal Sport Circle to help ready these athletes.
Business, government and community partnerships are integral to the joint success of Yukon’s youth in sport.
